Ground Preparation for Installation
The First Step for a Stable Fence
Before installing the fence panels, it is essential to carefully prepare the ground. Proper preparation helps prevent mistakes that could compromise the entire installation.
What to do to define the layout:
1. Place stakes along the route, at the fence corners;
2. Stretch a guide string to mark the perimeter;
3. Check that the stakes are perfectly aligned.
This step is essential to ensure that the fence with posts, once completed, is straight and stable from the very beginning.
Fence Posts Installation
Precision and Strength
Fence posts are the supporting element of the entire structure. Incorrect installation can compromise the stability of the whole fence.
This step-by-step guide is suitable both for installing fences with posts set into the ground and for installation on walls or concrete curbs using dedicated supports or posts with welded base plates.
Key steps:
Installing a Panel Fence in the Ground
1. Dig the hole for the first post;
2. Use a spirit level to ensure that the post is perfectly perpendicular to the ground;
3. Since the installation is directly in the ground, secure the post with concrete to guarantee strength and durability;
Installing Panel Fences on a Wall
1. Drill the holes for installing the first post;
2. Use a spirit level to ensure that the post is perfectly perpendicular to the wall or support;
Constantly check the distances between the posts, both at the top and bottom. This is a fundamental procedure to keep the fence panels perfectly aligned.
Warning: Even a slight inclination can affect both the stability and the appearance of your garden fence.
Fence Panel Installation
Step-by-Step Guide
Once the first two fence posts have been installed, you can proceed with fixing the panel.
NB: Depending on whether the installation uses clamps or fixing plates, carefully consult the drawings and technical datasheets and/or contact a qualified professional to correctly measure the spacing between the posts.
Avoid leaving the panel “unsupported” during installation, as this may compromise alignment.
To secure the panels, follow these steps:
1. Position a half-clamp (or fixing plate) against the post;
2. Simulate the assembly without fastening the accessory;
3. Position both the previous and the next panel against the post;
4. Once the panels are in place, secure them using the accessories;
If using clamps, avoid sliding them excessively along the support tube, in order to prevent abrasions.
All Ferro Bulloni fence fixing accessories (clamps and fixing plates) are supplied with dedicated fastening hardware included. For the installation of supports or posts with base plates, we provide specific expansion bolts for optimal holding strength.
How Many People Are Needed to Install a Fence?
For the proper installation of garden fences, it is recommended to have at least two people involved, in order to ensure the work is carried out safely. Working in pairs makes it possible to properly support the panels during installation while checking alignment and verticality in real time.
These aspects are especially important for large fences or installations on uneven ground.
Ferro Bulloni always recommends relying on specialized installers and industry professionals.
